Homelessness Service for Asylum Seekers and Families with Uncertain Immigration Status (HAS)
MARSS provides housing, maintenance, tenancy support and wrap-around services to asylum seeker women, men and families to find suitable accommodation in the ACT.
This program provides transitional, safe accommodation for unaccompanied asylum seekers on bridging visa, who are living in the ACT while their applications for protection visas are being processed.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the HAS, a person must:
• Be able to establish their identity,
• Be resident in the ACT,
• Be an asylum seeker or a person with an uncertain immigration status,
• Be ineligible for accommodation support through Commonwealth Status Resolution Support Services,
• Have a household income within the income eligibility limits for social housing assistance in the ACT,
• In general, the main applicant to be at least 18 years of age.
Asylum Seeker Transitional Accommodation Program
Through this program, MARSS also provides housing services to individual male asylum seekers.
For the purpose of this service, an asylum seeker or a person with an uncertain immigration status is a person in possession of one of the following visas:

Temporary Protection visa (subclass 785)

Temporary Humanitarian Concern visa (subclass 786)

Safe Haven Enterprise visa (subclass 790)

Temporary Humanitarian Stay visa (subclass 449)

Bridging visa A – BVA – (subclass 010)

Bridging visa B – BVB – (subclass 020)

Bridging visa C – BVC – (subclass 030)

Bridging visa E – BVE – (subclass 050 and 051)

Bridging visa F – BVF – (subclass 060)
