Job Success Program

​

Thinking about completing further study? MARSS can support you in completing a Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing or Disability) or a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery at the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT).

​

Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)

  • Give you the skills and knowledge you need to work as a disability support worker

  • 1 semester full-time study

​

Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing)

  • Give you the skills and knowledge you need to work in both residential aged care and community based facilities.

  • 1 semester full-time study.

​

Certificate III in Commercial Cookery

  • Give you the skills to work as a commercial cook, using a wide range of well-developed cookery skills and sound knowledge of kitchen operations to prepare food and menu items.

  • 2 semesters full-time study.

  • Complete work placement during study.

​

We will pay for course costs and provide any necessary help you need to succeed.

 

We will also pair you with a tutor who can help with English comprehension, and understanding study and assessment requirements.

 

MARSS will help you find work placements and experience once you have completed your studies.

​

English for Workplace and Business Skills

​

English classes focused on preparing you to enter the Australian Workforce. You will learn about basic work signs and symbols, how to write workplace texts, engage in formal and informal conversations and gain confidence in work presentations.

​

You will:

  • Learn Vocabulary and expressions for the workplace

  • Build workplace conversation skills

  • Gain confidence speaking in a group

  • Prepare yourself to succeed in your current or future job

 

We will also pair you with a tutor who can help with English comprehension, and understanding study and assessment requirements.

 

MARSS will help you find work placements and experience once you have completed your studies.

 Job Ready

The MARSS Job Prep Services, develops foundational employability skills for migrants and refugees so that they can find and obtain meaningful employment in the ACT.

​

Work one-on-one with a mentor to develop the skills you need to find and obtain work in the ACT. MARSS can assist with: 

​​​

  • Resume and cover letter writing

  • Reviewing your applications 

  • How to navigate popular job sites 

  • Interview techniques 

  • Explaining Australia workplace culture 

  • Linking to additional resources
