The Settlement Grants Program targets migrants, refugees and humanitarian entrants who have lived in Australia for under five years, and who arrive on refugee, humanitarian and family stream visa classes.

How can we help you?
We can help you:
- Find housing
- Understand the health system
- Access health services
- Access education (enrol children in school, find English classes for you etc.)
- Deal with family issues and problems
- With referrals to migration agents
- Fill in forms
- Access income support through Centrelink and other agencies
- With banking and financial institutions
- Provide referrals to gain recognition of your overseas qualifications
- With sponsorship issues
- By providing emotional support, respect and understanding
- Referrals to other services
- With general settlement information and much more!
All services are free!

- Anything you discuss with the SGP Officer is strictly confidential
- We use Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS) accredited interpreters for clients who have difficulties speaking English

Migration Advice Service
The Migrant and Refugee Settlement Services of the ACT Inc. together with the Australian National University now offer a free migration advice clinic.
A registered migration agent will be available by appointment only. For further information please contact reception.

StreetLaw
StreetLaw is a project of Welfare Rights & Legal Centre (WRLC), and a joint initiative with Aboriginal Legal Service and Legal Aid ACT. StreeLaw provides legal advice and representatiion to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Also provide legal advice and casework to other family matters. The Clinic will operate from 2:00 to 4:00pm on Friday on a weekly basis excluding public holidays ('the Clinic Operation Times') from 2 April 2010. For further information please contact reception.
