
The Community Leadership Development Program (CLDP) is a training program that aims to develop leadership skills and confidence in SGP eligible clients in the North area of Canberra SD who wish to play a valued leadership role in their community. 
The program is for community leaders and aspiring community leaders from the new and emerging communities, including the Karen, Sudanese, Afghani, Iraqi and Sri Lankin communities. The CLDP will be delivered through a series of practical workshops covering four modules:
- Module 1 – Leadership Fundamentals
- Communication, building relationships, conflict resolution and negotiation.
- Module 2 – Managing Time and Priorities
- Goal setting, planning, delegation and IT skills.
- Module 3 – Media, Communication and Presentation
- Planning and delivering presentations, interaction with the media.
- Module 4 – My Community
- Understanding the resources available to support community leadership;
- community group action plans and strategic business thinking.
The Program commenced in September 2009 and includes practical activities that will assist participants develop their leadership skills to benefit their community including the opportunity to develop an action plan for a community project. 
Graduation The program finished in March 2010 with a Graduation ceremony and presentation of course certificates.
